PHYSICAL SUNSCREENS
What's the difference?
What is a physical sunscreen vs. a chemical sunscreen?
Physical sunscreens use physical filters, titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide, as their active sun protective ingredients. Chemical sunscreens, on the other hand, use various chemical filters (octinoxate, oxybenzone, avobenzone, etc.) as their active sun protective ingredients.
Why does Reneux recommend physical sunscreens?
- Safe to use post-procedure
- Doesn't break down as quickly as chemical sunscreens
- Creates a shield on the skin that reflects UV radiation
- Recognized as safe and effective by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- Cosmetically elegant formulas
- Zinc and Titanium Dioxide are REEF FRIENDLY!!!
